The film, released in 2024, sees Gru, his wife Lucy, and their three daughters welcome a new member to the family, Gru Jr.. The family’s new life is disrupted when Gru’s old high school rival, Maxime Le Mal, escapes from prison and seeks revenge. Gru’s family is placed in witness protection, and Gru is blackmailed by an aspiring villain, Poppy, to help her commit a heist. The plot also involves some of the Minions being transformed into “Mega Minions” with superpowers. The physical media release includes several bonus features, such as two mini-movies titled “Game Over and Over” and “Benny’s Birthday,” as well as deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
